Sarah Raines Period 3 War is almost always a dreadful experience. It is terrifying for those who must endure through the actual experience, but perhaps even worse for those at home. The constant and threatening thought of loved ones away at war. It leaves many in religious prayers for those who "were away at war" (Anaya 3). Many are dreadfully weary and the setting is almost always mournful when thinking of those who are away at war. World War 2 did have an impact on the ways people acted during the story Antonio even recalls “so many women of the town had lost sons or husbands to the war” (Anaya 35). War is an appalling experience that can change the lives of others. Many are dreadfully weary and the setting is almost always mournful when thinking of those who are away at war. The war takes the brothers away from Antonio and the Father’s dream for the sons to stay together and tell them a song. It leaves many in religious prayers for those who "were away at war" (Anaya 3).The people who fought in the war faced many new dangers due to the fact of highly effective and destructive weapons. For example, after coming back from war, Lupito turns crazy and shoots Chavez’s bother. The stress from the war starts to bring eternal suffering and longing for death. After war nothing in life is very interesting.
